I've seen an very interessting video (http://meetthegimp.org/episode-127-octave-sharpening/) about the so called "Octave Sharpening" I've never heard. So I started searching for some information about it and found also 2 other sharpening methods (http://www.varis.com/StepByStep/sharpen/Sharpen.html).
The PDF tutorial (second link) shows the function with Photoshop so I implemented the scripts for gimp and wondered how effectfull they are.
Here is version 1.0. read more »
Periodically saves any open files in the current GIMP instance.
I got tired of searching for GIMP autosave and coming across developer discussions stating, in essence why autosave won't be implemented.
Installs a menu under <Image>/File/Autosave, containing "Enable", "Disable" and "Settings". From the settings dialog, you can enable/disable autosave globally, set the interval in minutes, and configure the location and pattern for autosave files of new and saved files individually. You can also edit the "autosave.conf" file in the same directory as the plugin script. read more »
WARNING: This script will overwrite your images! Make a backup first.
Hi, I'm a web developer and i often want to test my designs in different colors. To avoid changing images one by one i did this simple script (my first one) to rapidly get a feel of how it looks like.
The script desaturates all open images in GIMP and creates a layer in Color mode with the color you pick on the non-transparent parts of those images and finally saves them.
Altough its a very simple script, it prooved useful to some of my co-workers so i decided to post it here. read more »
Windows binary for this new plugin by Arel Welgan.
Source has been fixed for Windows compilation by Samj. Plugin no longer crashes under Windows.
Please note that all comments below, prior to Nov 28 2009 are related to another build not to this
that seems working well with RGB and RGBA images
Extract colour-match.exe from the ZIP archive and copy it to your c:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins\
(As Windows compilation by Samj was perfect, I kept it in the archive. Mine was several bytes larger...)
Easily map colours from a source colour to a target colour. Very effective for matching skin tones across images or between people.
Relatively quick (but not earth shattering). It doesn't work with grayscale or indexed images. Has preview, works with selections and layers, etc. Very, easy to use, and quite useful for portraits or recolouring graphics.

A demonstration: Lenna's face is mapped to the colour of the feather on her hat. This was done by selecting a colour from her face, then selecting a colour from the feather. read more »
This script inverse the visibility of the active layer. It is very useful because you can give it a short cut and use the mouse only on your image!
